Holidays in downtown Flowery Branch, 2026: the four City dates

The City of Flowery Branch has posted four holiday dates downtown for 2026. Three are on the City’s events calendar, and the Christmas Market is on the City’s own Eventeny listing. All four are run by the City’s events office, the Department of Fun. We checked each on Oct. 17, 2026. Below are the times, what each one involves, and a suggested evening built around the tree lighting.

When is the Flowery Branch tree lighting?

Friday, Nov. 20, 2026, from 6:30 to 8 PM. The City’s annual lantern parade walks down Main Street, and then the community Christmas tree is lit for the season. The City lists the event at 5210 Railroad Ave., the address of the market pavilion. The City’s listing mentions no ticket or fee.

What is a good evening around the tree lighting?

The parade starts at 6:30, so the evening works best if you arrive in daylight and eat before or after. This plan uses places with a published downtown address. We do not have their hours for that night, so confirm each one, and book ahead where you can.

• Before dark: walk to the depot at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Main Street. Just north of it beside the track is Railroad Marker #594, which the City says marks 594 miles from Union Station in Washington, D.C. Then walk up Main Street to the historic caboose at its north end.
• Early dinner on Main Street. The City’s Main Street Business Directory lists Caroline’s On Main at 5518 Main St., Whole Being Cafe at 5510 Main St. and The Porch on Main at 5603 Main St. Antebellum is at 5510 Church St.; the Greater Hall Chamber says OpenTable named it one of the “50 Best Southern Restaurants.”
• By 6:30 PM: find a spot on Main Street. The parade walks down it before the tree is lit.
• After the lighting: Peyton’s Pie Company at 5609 Main St. is on the same street, if it is open that evening.

The City has not published parking for the tree lighting. Its Christmas Market listing names Pine Street by City Hall, the gravel lot across from City Hall, Railroad Avenue in front of the Police Department, parallel parking on Mitchell Street and Railroad Avenue, Snelling Avenue and the Chestnut Street lot. Those are a reasonable place to start looking; our parking page has more.

What is on Small Business Saturday?

The City lists Small Business Saturday downtown on Nov. 28, 2026, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, from 10 AM to 1 PM. It had published no other details when we checked. The Main Street directory and our Main Street guide list the downtown shops and restaurants.

Two days earlier, Thanksgiving falls on the 4th Thursday of November, a winter farmers market day by the City’s rule. The City has not said whether the market meets; our winter market dates flag it.

When is the Flowery Branch Christmas Market?

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2026, from 3:30 to 7 PM at 5210 Railroad Ave. The City’s listing promises free carriage rides, Santa and Santa letters, holiday characters, local vendors, food trucks and live holiday music. The 2024 and 2025 markets each advertised more than 40 vendors; the City has not given a count for 2026. When we checked, the market was on the Eventeny listing but not yet on the City website calendar.

Dec. 10 is also the 2nd Thursday of December, a winter farmers market day. Last year the regular market skipped the Christmas Market date, so check whether the regular market meets as well.

Is there a New Year’s Eve event in Flowery Branch?

Yes, at midday. The City’s Noon Years Eve Party is Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM, listed at 5210 Railroad Ave. It is a kid-friendly early countdown with sparkling grape juice, activities and a big balloon drop at noon. The City has not listed a midnight event.
