Parking

Parking in downtown Flowery Branch, GA

The short answer

The City of Flowery Branch publishes no downtown parking lots, meters, fees or time limits. Its one published list is for the Dec. 10, 2026 Christmas Market: Pine Street at City Hall, the gravel lot across from City Hall, Railroad Avenue in front of the Police Department, the corner of Snelling Avenue, the empty lot at Chestnut Street, and parallel parking on Mitchell Street and Railroad Avenue.

Cars, including a black SUV and a black sedan, travel a multi-lane interstate past a green exit sign reading 'EXIT 12 - Spout Springs Rd - Flowery Branch' with an arrow, next to a smaller sign reading 'RANKIN SMITH INTERCHANGE', set against a dense wall of green trees under a partly cloudy sky.

We found no other Flowery Branch guide with a parking section, so here is what is on the record as of 2026-10-17, and what is not.

What the City publishes, and what it does not

We checked flowerybranchga.org for a parking page, a lot list, space counts, fees, time limits, meters and pay apps. None are published, and no source we checked mentions a City parking deck. The one piece of official parking guidance we found is the list of parking areas on the City’s own Christmas Market listing for Dec. 10, 2026.

Every row comes from that Christmas Market listing. “Not published” means the City has not given a number. It does not mean parking is free or unlimited.

Where each area is

  • Pine Street at City Hall, 5410 Pine Street: parking along Pine Street at the building, about 290 m from the depot in a straight line.
  • Gravel lot across from City Hall: the City gives no address, so we have not pinned it on a map.
  • Railroad Avenue in front of the Police Department, 5270 Railroad Avenue, at the corner of Pine Street: about 290 m from the depot.
  • Corner of Snelling Avenue, “just over the railroad tracks on the left,” in the City’s words. Snelling Avenue is about 190 m from the depot; the exact corner is not given.
  • Empty lot at Chestnut Street: downtown has both a West and an East Chestnut Street and the City does not say which, so we have not pinned it.
  • Parallel parking along Mitchell Street and on Railroad Avenue.

How far things are from the depot

These are straight lines between map points, not walking routes, and a real walk is longer. From the depot at 5302 Railroad Avenue, the farmers market pavilion at 5210 Railroad Avenue is about 330 m, The AMP about 270 m, The Porch on Main about 150 m, Antebellum about 190 m and Flowery Branch Bay Park about 870 m.

A normal day versus an event day

Normal day

The City publishes no everyday rules for any of the areas above, so we cannot tell you whether a space has a time limit. Read the signs where you park. Once you are parked, the City describes Old Town as walkable, with small blocks.

  • The City calls its historic downtown "Old Town" and says many original buildings in the central business district still stand and have been rehabilitated. It describes the downtown as walkable, with small blocks. City of Flowery Branch: History

Event day

For the Christmas Market on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2026, 3:30 to 7 PM, the City asks visitors to use the areas listed above. For Stars, Flannel & Vintage Weekend (Oct. 22 to 24, 2026), the City’s event page lists the market on Railroad Avenue and the Pavilion, activities on Main Street, North Main and Church Street, and a movie at The AMP. It gives no parking instructions and no street-closure notice. The Christmas Market list is the most recent parking guidance the City has published for a downtown event.

Regular market Thursdays have no published parking guidance either. The farmers market meets under the pavilion at 5210 Railroad Avenue, the same address the City gives for the Christmas Market. Dates for every downtown event are on the events calendar.

Accessible parking

The City publishes no accessible-parking locations or counts for downtown. Two related facts are on the record. The restored depot has an elevator, added in the old agents’ storage space, and restrooms in its new lower level. On the lake, Van Pugh South Day Use Facility lists an accessible boat ramp. If you need an accessible space for an event, ask City Hall (770-967-6371) before you go.

If your car is towed

The City’s police FAQ says that if the police department has towed your vehicle, contact its listed wrecker service, Terry’s Towing, at 5515 Atlanta Highway, open 24 hours.

Parking at the lake

Lake parking works differently. The Corps of Engineers day-use parks managed with Hall County charge a vehicle entry fee at a kiosk that takes credit cards, not cash. Safe Harbor lists complimentary parking among Hideaway Bay’s marina services. Fees and rules for each access point are on the Lake Lanier access page.

What we will add

A Gainesville Times story about festival parking and a proposed downtown parking study is behind a paywall. We could not read its findings, so nothing here relies on it. When the City publishes a lot list, rules or event closures, we will add them with the date we checked. Spot something new? Tell us on the contact page.

Questions

Is there parking downtown?

For the 2026 Christmas Market, the City listed these parking areas: Pine Street at City Hall, the gravel lot across from City Hall, Railroad Avenue in front of the Police Department, parallel parking on Mitchell Street and on Railroad Avenue, the corner of Snelling Avenue across the tracks, and the empty lot on Chestnut Street. The City has not published a general downtown parking map.
